James M. Kota, 69, of Wooster died Friday October 21, 2011 at Wooster Community Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday October 27, 2011 at Concordia Lutheran Church 2343 Star Drive, Wooster, Ohio 44691 with Pastor James Pemberton officiating. Burial will follow at Wooster Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm
He was born March 5, 1942 in Wheeling W.V. the son of Michael and Dorothy Carl Kota. On July 16, 1966 he married Sharon Lobaugh who preceded him in death on March 9, 1989. In 1991 he married Linda J. Flesher Dombrosky who survives.
James was an Underwriter for Westfield Insurance Company for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He was a graduate of West Liberty College. He was a member of the Elks, a director of the Izaak Walton League, a benefactor member of the NRA, and a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, where he served as an Elder. He served his country with the United States Air Force. James was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving is his wife Linda, of Wooster, sons; Jeff (Amy) Kota and Brian Kota both of Wooster, step-sons; Ryan Dombrosky, of Wooster and Marc Dombrosky of Dawasak Michigan. Grandchildren, Dylan, Zane and Gage Kota, and his brothers; Bob Kota, and Gary Kota both of Wheeling WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Sharon Kota, and a brother Doug Kota.
