SARAHSVILLE, OHIO – Okey Junior STARLING, 77, of Sarahsville and formerly of Wooster, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011 at his home.
He was born July 21, 1934 in Wayne, West Virginia, the son of Mose M and Laura Lee Cumiford Starling.
He had worked with Jim Strock at the B.F. Goodrich Store and then opened Okey’s Alignment in 1971 and retired from the business in 1999. He and his wife, Mary Lou, had also done foster parenting in Wayne County. Okey was a coon hunter and an avid outdoorsman. He had served his country with the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Senecaville Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his children, Rebecca K. (Mark) Clutter of Spencer and Edward E (Sharon) Starling of Wooster; grandchildren Megan Clutter, Lauren Clutter and Scott Starling.
Okey was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary L Hoffer Starling, on August 16, 2008, sisters Daisy Arthur, Edith French, Gloreana Agee, Lucille Discus and Gladys Moye and a brother Fred.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday evening from 4-6:00 p.m.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Susan Hyland officiating. Interment will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
