SHREVE – David E BUTLER, 71, of Shreve, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2011 in Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born November 8, 1940 in Morgantown, Kentucky, the son of Harold E and Geneva Durham Butler. He married Shirley Pfouts on March 30, 1974. She died March 3, 2007.
He had worked as a dispatcher at Frito-Lay, in maintenance at Edgewood Jr. High School and in electronics at Walmart. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Shreve and a member of the American Legion. Served his country with the US Navy.
Surviving are his step-children, Madeline (Brian) Walker of Raytown, Missouri and James (Peggy) Jones of Bates City, Missouri; aunts, Dorothy Hendrix of Apple Creek, JoAnn Dye of Wooster, and uncle Bennie Durham of Gulfport, Missippi, many cousins and nephews and special friends Paul and Marty Sigler.
In addition to his wife, David was preceded by his parents and a step-son Joseph Jones.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. service on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev. Arnie Kaufman officiating. Interment will be on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, the procession will form at noon on Monday to go to the cemetery.
