WOOSTER – Betty J KING, 94, of Wooster died peacefully on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Friendship Village in Columbus close to her family.
She was born December 21, 1916 in Columbus, the daughter of Edward and Alvina Metzmaier Boston. Betty was married to Dr. Nelson B. King for over 50 years and they resided in Wooster during Dr. King’s tenure with the OARDC/OSU and during his retirement years. Dr. King passed away in 1990.
Betty had been a resident at Brookdale Place in Wooster for the last 5 years. She was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church, the Viola Thorne Club, the PEO and was a volunteer at the Salvation Army of Wooster.
Surviving are sons, John E. King and Lonnie J. King both of Columbus; grandchildren William N. King of Phoenix, Arizona and Meghan E. Hock of Columbia South Carolina and great-grandchildren Ian and Henry Hock as well as nieces and nephews,
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 2:00 p.m. service on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev. Dr. David Wilcox officiating.
