WOOSTER – Arlene G SWAIN, 77, of Wooster, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011 in Akron City Hospital.
She was born December 17, 1934 in Wayne County, the daughter of Cleveland G and Ruth Eagle Boreman. She married Norman G. Swain on June 18, 1952. He died December 16, 2003.
She was the Human Resources Manager for Bauer Ladder retiring in 1993 and then started her own woven rug business with her husband and retired in November of 2011. She was in the last graduating class at Chester High School in 1951. Arlene was a member of the Church of the Cross United Methodist Church where she had been the Church Treasurer for many years. Arlene loved gardening and reading.
Surviving are her children, Mary Swain of Westerville, Kathy (Alan) Engelhardt and Amy (Rick) Lingle both of Wooster; grandchildren, Emily (Steve) Mattison, Harold (Julia) Swain, Ed (Shannon) Swain, Scott Engelhardt, Amber (Cory) Morlock, Ryan (Chelsi) Lingle, Alyssa (Andy) Beery; 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, Phillip (Betty) Boreman of Wooster, sisters, Carrie (Parker) Hagans of Wooster and Dorothy (Bob) Copus of Fostoria.
In addition to her husband, Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Robert Swain in 1984 and an infant sibling.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home,216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 7-9:00 p.m..
Funeral Services will be held at Funeral Home on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Matthew Wald officiating. Interment will follow in the 8 Square Cemetery.
