Greta K. Wigham, 82, of Wooster, died mercifully in her sleep on Wednesday, January 11, at Wooster Community Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Greta was born March 15, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Olaf Furseth and Aslaug Furseth nee Pedersen, both from Bergen, Norway. She graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1947, and from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1951, where she was in the Delta Gamma sorority.
Greta was a fourth grade teacher in Lyndhurst, Ohio and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and finished her career at Holmesville Elementary. Thereafter, she was a volunteer reading tutor at Parkview Elementary and a long time volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
On August 21, 1957, she married John T. Wigham, an attorney. She gave birth to David (Becky) Wigham, also an attorney, and Susan Wigham, both of whom survive her. Nana is also survived by two grandchildren, Andrew and Allison Wigham, a brother, Erik (Lynn) Furseth, of Traverse City, Michigan, several nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by her parents.
At Greta’s request, her remains will be cremated, and she wanted no funeral services, but the family will meet friends on Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, Ohio.

Greta will be remembered by all as a lovely, graceful and classy lady. Good bye gal.
