WOOSTER – M. Willis M.W HUGHES, 82, of Wooster, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 in Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born April 12, 1929 in Ashland, the son of Willis Hughes and Martha Musser. He married Marjorie A. Hecker on July 7, 1949. She died February 9, 1997.
He had been a machine operator for the Timken Co. for 42 years and had owned Hughes Lawn Service for over 30 years. He was a member of the Wooster Elks Lodge and had received the outstanding service certificate for visiting nursing homes, a member of the Wooster Moose Lodge, the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He had served his country with the US Navy during WWII. His greatest passion was weekend camping at Long Lake..
Surviving are his children, Michael Hughes of Wooster and Pamela Hughes of Springfield, Illinois and formerly of Wooster..
In addition to his wife, Max was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Monday, January 30, 2012 from 10-11:00 a.m.
A graveside services will be held at the Wooster Cemetery on Monday at 11:30 a.m.
