Richard Arthur Miller, 81, formerly of 887 West Highland Avenue, Wooster died Friday February 3, 2012 at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born September 29, 1930 in Wooster, son of the late Albert C. and Katherine Dietrick Miller. On September 11, 1955, he married Suzanna œSue  D. Norris.
Richard graduated from Wooster High School in 1948 and served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired after 7 ½ years as a custodian at the O.A.R.D.C. Prior to that, he worked at Central News Company in Akron for 17 years and the Mansfield Frosted Foods for 11 years.
He was a member of the Wooster/Madisonburg Evening Lions, was a substitute teacher ™s aid for Wooster City Schools, worked on reunion committees and was an avid high school and college football fan. In his younger days he belonged to the Demolay and had earned his God and Country Award for Boy Scouts.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sue; daughter, Jayne Renee (Daniel) Armstrong both of Shreve, granddaughter Tiffany Danielle Armstrong, cousin Pat (Lester) Lefever and a sister in law Mrs. Marjean Helm of Salem, Ohio.
Along with his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a brother in law Collin K. Helm and a sister in law Flo Davis.
Funeral service will be held on Monday February 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M at McIntire, Bradham and Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Rev. Glenn Royer officiating. Interment will follow at Wooster Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 A.M until the time of service.
