Carl C. Cox, 68, of Wooster, died Saturday February 4, 2012 at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born on October 25, 1943 in Mansfield, son of the late Carl C. and Mary M. Fralick Cox and was raised in the Loudonville area.
Carl proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1964. He was based in Norfolk, Virginia and was commissioned Plank Ownership USS Biddle and served on the USS Corey and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Carl worked for Diebold Wooster for 19 years then for Fabricators for over 10 years before retiring in 2006. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, family gatherings and was an avid Vegas visitor. He was a former member of the American Legion Post 68 in Wooster and the Perrysville V.F.W. Carl was baptized at Trinity United Church of Christ and was a member of the Baptist Church.
He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and will be sadly missed by his wife of 47 years Beulena œBoots  of Wooster, whom he married July 18, 1965; children Pamela (Brian) Smith, Tina Hershberger, Carl C. III (Tara) Cox all of Wooster and Michelle (Emery) Miller of Apple Creek; grandchildren Matthew, Dustin and Kaitlyn Miller, Brandon and Tyler Hershberger, Jordan and Delaney Myers; great grandson Caden Miller; brother Don (Jan) Cox of Newark; sister Ethel (Russell) Reynolds of Loudonville; brothers in law Frank (Bonnie) Torrence, Glen (Ginny) Torrence both of Wooster, Oscar Torrence of Shreve; sister in law Joyce Bair of Logan; many nieces, nephews and cousins and his best friends œScotty , œPaws  and œPatches .
Along with his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his grandparents, an infant sister Sandra, a brother William Cox of Mansfield and a brother in law Roger Torrence of Wooster.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday February 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Contributions may be directed to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
The family wishes to thank Dr. John Miller, Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County and the staff at Wooster Community Hospital.
