WOOSTER – Hazel Ruth Roush, 94, of Wooster, lost her courageous battle with lymphoma on Tuesday, February 14, 2012.
Hazel was born in Marysville on April 11, 1917, to the late Charles and Myrtle (Graves) Brown. She worked at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville before moving to Wooster, where she was employed by the nearby Mohican Hills Golf Course for a number of years. She and her husband, Ray, were members of the Moose Lodge of Wooster. Her joys were cooking and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond G. Roush; brothers Charles, Leroy, Harold and Cecil Brown and sisters Reita Hill and Lela Maccabee; and step-daughter-in-law Gloria Roush.
Left to mourn her are step-children Dr. William Roush, Donna (Will) Clark, Gerry (Jeff) Greenwood, Louisa (Chuck) Beatty; step-grandchildren John Kerekes, Bill Kerekes, Don Kerekes, Stephanie Roush, Laura Sims, Wendy Greenwood, Tracy Krawczyk, Chris Bertsch and Shannon Gilchrist and numerous great-grandchildren. She also will be missed by faithful friends Beverly Metcalf and Bob Pritchet and helpful neighbors Bruce and Sharon Arbrogast and Roger and Eva Peterson.
On Saturday, February 18, 2012 calling hours will be one hour prior to the 2:00 p.m. funeral service at the McIntire, Bradham and Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
