WOOSTER Elizabeth Fischer, 96, passed away February 17, 2012 at Smithville Western Care Center after a short illness.
She was born Liesel Queisser on September 25, 1915, in the town of Reichenberg in what would become Czechoslovakia after WW I. In 1945 she married Max P. They settled in Mogadore, Ohio where her husband had relatives. About a year later, their second son, Max W. Fischer, was born.
She lived in Mogadore and later in Uniontown for 46 years. She was a long-time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Akron. In 1998 she moved to Wooster to be near her son, Max W. and his family. Known as Oma to those who loved her, she was a king and gentle person who enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and the family dogs. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Max P. Fischer. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Klaus and Patricia of Greensburg, Pennsylvania and Max W. and Sharon of Wooster; grandchildren Douglas, Ashley (and Fiance, Jeremy Jewell) and Abby Fischer and granddaughter Jennifer Julian and her husband David.
