WOOSTER – Margaret Gertrude TOMMER, 90, of Wooster and formerly of Avon Lake passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012 in Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born October 16, 1921 in Cleveland, the daughter of Gertrude Boleman. She was married to Robert John Tommer for 57 years. He died in 1997.
She retired in 1984 as a secretary from First Merit Bank after 24 years of service and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and bowling and had been a volunteer at People to People Ministries.
Surviving are a Robert J. Jr. (Debbi) Tommer of Upland, California and a daughter Patricia A (David) Kotasek of Wooster; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a sister, Maryann Liptak of Cleveland.
In addition to her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and brothers George Pushpak, Joseph and John Hager and a sister Helen Stetz.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with the Rev. Stephen Moran officiating. Inurnment of ashes will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Wooster.
