Theresa J. Schoenbine passed through Heaven s gates on April 30, 2012 at her home in Wooster, OH after a heroic fifteen month battle with cancer. Living a life filled with love, laughter and creativity, TJ, as she was known by friends and family, celebrated each day with Christian integrity, working to make the world a better place.
Born on March 18, 1966 in Bay City, MI, she was a 1984 honors graduate of Bay City Western High School in Bay City, MI, where TJ met her future husband Rod Schoenbine. They were married on October 6, 1990. Her passion for art and education lead her to pursue a degree in art education at Central Michigan University, graduating with honors in 1988 with a further invitation to join Mortar Board National Honor Society.
Her creative talents and passion to inspire young people to be their best led her to volunteer her God given gifts to better her community. Titan Twirlers, Wooster Gymnastics, Boy Scout Troop 63, St. Mary Catholic Church, and countless others all felt her touch. Listen to Lee Ann Womack s I Hope You Dance, and you will understand TJ.
TJ will be deeply missed by her husband, Rod; and her greatest legacy to this world, children Grayson and Delaney. Parents Richard and Mary Ellen Swiecicki; brothers Tom and Lucy, Randy and Jen, Jason and Alethea Swiecicki; nieces and nephews, Zach, Nadia, Gavin, Lazarus and Soleil; in-laws Carl and Eleanor Schoenbine, all of MI.
A celebration of TJ s life will begin Thursday May 3, 2012 with calling hours from 4-8 p.m. at McIntire Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home in Wooster, OH, with funeral services at St. Mary Catholic Church on May 4, 2012 at 10 a.m.
