WOOSTER – David J SPEELMAN, 80, of Wooster, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
He was born November 7, 1931 in Holmes County, the son of Daniel H and Mildred Snyder Speelman. He married Susan Kandel on May 21, 1952. She died February 7, 2007.
He was a lifelong farmer.
Surviving are his children Ken (Lorna) Speelman, Keith A Speelman and Kayla (Jim) Roby all of Wooster; grandchildren, Jessica Speelman, Michael (Gennie Miller) Speelman, Jason (Mary Lisa Mast) Speelman, Jimmy and Suzanne Roby and Adam and Emily Speelman; great-grandchildren, Courtney Hussine, Nathan and Jeannie Blevins, Jett, Logan, Coleson and Blakelee Speelman; great-granddaughter Raedyn Hussine; brothers, Donald (Pat) Speelman of Fredericksburg and Robert (Wilma) Speelman both of Wooster and sisters, Kathryn Miller and Shirley Clark both of Wooster,
In addition to his wife, David was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Karen on November 2, 1969 and a granddaughter, Jennifer Speelman on October 21, 1978.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday evening from 5-8:00 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Kenneth Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Mennonite Cemetery.
