WOOSTER – Pauline Cooper, 98, of West View Manor, Wooster passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.
She was born December 30, 1913 in Canada to Samuel and Lily Thornton Bridgette. Pauline married George P. Cooper on August 25, 1936. He died March 16, 2004.
Pauline graduated from London Normal School, London Ontario and attended Cuyahoga Community College. She briefly worked as a cataloger of old Methodist material in the library at Baldwin Wallace College, Berea. She was an active member of Wooster United Methodist Church, Garden Party Garden Club and was a past volunteer at the Village Network and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed playing bridge and euchre with her many friends.
Surviving are a son, Michael Cooper (Joan) of Ontario, Canada and daughters, Prudence Holtman (Ronald) of Wooster and Rhonda York of Novi, Michigan; grandchildren Scott Cooper (Kristin), Amy Stephens (Chris), Matthew Holtman (Ester Blair), Jeremy York (Melissa) and David York (Melissa) and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, sister ™s Roberta Fraser, Freida Moxham, Nina Southcott and a brother Albert Bridgette.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wooster United Methodist Church, 243 N. Market St., Wooster with the Rev. Dr. David Wilcox and Rev. Larry Black Officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Wooster United Methodist Church or to a charity of donor ™s choice.
