WOOSTER “ Gary L. Martin, 79, of Wooster passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born April 21, 1933 in Saltillo, Ohio to Clarence B. and Avenell Conaway Martin. He married Mary Barker on June 22, 1956. She survives.
He was a paint shader for Morton International retiring in 1995. He had served his country with the U.S. Army. Gary enjoyed gardening, playing the guitar, the outdoors and driving. He attended the Millbrook Pentecostal Fellowship Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Sheryl Ball and Gary L. Martin, Jr. both of Wooster and Paul (Gertrude) Martin of Canton; 8 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild and 5 great grandchildren; a brother, Clarence Martin of Wooster and a sister Matty Lequire of Apison, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Zachary Martin in 1990 and a brother Charles Worthington.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 1:00 p.m. service on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Pastor Tom McFadden officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery near Shreve.
