WOOSTER – Mary D. RAY, 71, of Wooster, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Hospice Care Center in Akron. She was born November 11, 1940 in Paducah, Kentucky, the daughter of Eddie H and Harriet Connor Ray. She was a homemaker and a member of the Second Baptist Church. Mary enjoyed walking and exercise. Surviving are her children, Tonita Ray, Juanita Ray, Vivian Ray and Troy (April) Ray all of Wooster and Vonda Ray of Zanesville; God-daughter, Warnetta Harper-Smith of Wooster; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and her siblings, Rosalene Wallace, Carolyn Ray, Brenda Durden and Leo Ray all of Wooster, Maggie Scruthions of Detroit and Eddie Ray Jr. of Apple Creek. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert Ray and a sister, Cheryl Lynn Ray. Friends will be received 2 hours prior to the 1:00 p.m. service on Thursday, September 13, 2012, at the Second Baptist Church, 245 S. Grant St., Wooster with the Rev. Rickey Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery. The McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family. Those who wish, may make contributions to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
