WOOSTER – Ralph S. KIRKWOOD SR., 86, of Wooster, passed away Monday, September 10, 2012 in Glendora Health Care Center. He was born June 26, 1926 in Howard, Pennsylvania, son of Sheridan S. and Nancy J. McCartney Kirkwood. He married Ruth Morgan on September 24, 1952. She died October 17, 2002. He had attended Williamsport High School and had been the owner and operator of Kenwood Lumber Company. Served his country with the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was an avid outdoorsman. Surviving are his children, Nancy Kerner of Hellertown, PA, Ralph Kirkwood Jr. of Apple Creek and Bill (Sue)Kirkwood of Wooster; grandchildren, Michael and Sarah Kerner and Adam Kirkwood. In addition to his wife, Ralph was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating.
