WOOSTER – Kenneth K KEINER, 87, of Wooster, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in the Horn Nursing Home. He was born January 16, 1925 in Apple Creek, the son of Ezra and Bessie Finley Keiner. He married Norma J. Smith on November 8, 1946. She preceded in death on May 2, 2010. He retired as a security guard from Buckeye Container after several years of employment. He was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church and had served in the US Army during WWII in the Africian Middle Eastern Theatre and the European Theater where he was awarded a purple heart. Surviving are his children, Sharon (Bruce Arbogast) Lowe and Scott Keiner both of Wooster and Larry (Linda Cumpson) Keiner of Millersburg; 5 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Dwight and Kenneth Ray and a sister. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family. Contributions may be made to the Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne Co., 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH 44691. The family extends a special thank you to Horn Nursing Home for their care and compassion while he was a resident there.
