STRASBURG, VA – Deborah (Deb) Kay Miller died Monday, November 5, 2012.   Born on August 23, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Vera Plant Miller Hicks and Clarence Miller. She was also predeceased by two beloved brothers, Donald (Tig) Miller, and Richard Miller. She is survived by a brother, Dan Miller, three uncles, three aunts, cousins and many friends. Deb was a graduate of Tidewater Community College, Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA and Norfolk State University, where she earned her Master of Social Work Degree. Previously, she had participated in discipleship programs in Last Days Ministries, Calvary Commission, and Teen Challenge. She was a Social Worker in the Warren County, VA Department of Social Services. In previous years, Deb had worked in nursing homes in Ohio, Lion Uniform in Beattyville, KY, High’s Ice Cream Company in Portsmouth, VA and N.V. Spring Company in Virginia Beach, VA. She also gave extended volunteer service at the Josiah and Bethany Children’s Home in Reynosa, Mexico. Her creativity, industry, dependability, faithfulness, leadership ability and compassion are among the qualities that made her excel in each position she held. Deb expressed her concern for people in tangible ways, and gave whatever assistance she could to those in need, including long term support to a needy child in Haiti, through the Baptist Haiti Mission. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 12, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 East Larwill Street, Wooster, OH. Family and friends may meet at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 AM. Private family burial follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Josiah and Bethany Children’s Home in Reynosa, Mexico.
