BIG PRAIRIE – Richard Clarence VAN KIRK, 71, of Big Prairie, passed away November 5, 2012. He was born July 29, 1941 in Darlington, Pennsylvania, the son of David Edward and Martha Alice Brooks Van Kirk. He married Carol Ann Giles on September 10, 1961. She survives. He was the owner of Dick’s Cycle Specialties. Dick liked motorcycles, football, basketball and target shooting. He served his country with the U.S. Army from 1958 -1961. Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Marcy Lynn Van Kirk and David Edward Van Kirk of Atlanta, Georgia.   Richard was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Kenneth Edward Van Kirk and a sister, Suzanne Digman. Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 5-7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
