WOOSTER – Willie Mae FUNDERBURK, 73, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Wooster Community Hospital. She was born December 24, 1938 in Lynch, Kentucky, the daughter of Willie and Louise Lomax Riggins. She married James Funderburk on August 8, 1959. He survives. She retired in 1996 from West View Manor Nursing Home after more than 20 years as a nurses aide.. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Wadsworth where she was a member of the Willing Workers Missionaries, a Deaconess and an usher. She loved to crochet and spend time with her grandchildren and fellowship with her friends in Christ. Willie had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, daughter, Gladys (Dennis) Williams of Wooster, Lasonya (Mark) Griffin of Toledo and Katrina (Keith) Jackson of Wooster; grandchildren, Jonathan Williams, Trinity Funderburk, Ciara Griffin, Tyson Jackson, Marquis Griffin, and Donnica Williams, a brother, Ronald Riggins of Cleveland and a sister-in-law Gerladyne Riggins of Cleveland and a host of nieces and nephews. Willie was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Leonard & Elbert Riggins, sisters, Eunice Brown and Alcinda Riggins and a granddaughter Shonnica Williams. Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 12:00 Noon service on Thursday, November 19, 2012 at the Second Baptist Church, 245 S. Grant St., Wooster with the Rev. Rufus Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery. McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
