WOOSTER – Corrine Elliott, 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, as a resident of the Wayne County Care Center. After graduating from Wooster High School in 1943, Corrine married Howard Elliott in 1946 at St. Mary Catholic Church. One of her favorite lifetime activities was her high school class reunions. She was active in scouting at St. Mary’s, serving as a den mother, Brownie Leader and Girl Scout Leader. She and her husband, Dwight, owned ABC Cleaners in Akron, Ohio prior to retirement. Corrine is survived by her daughters Dianne (James) Howell and Karen (Ed) Dillow. She is also survived by sisters Jackie Docherty, Regina Knight, Joyce Chenevey, and Elaine (Bill) Forrer and a brother Ronald Schafer. grandchildren Scott Perry, Rodney (Jen) Howell, Michaela (Denny) Borneman, Jimmy Lee Howell, Jessica Elliott, Brenda Elliott, Erik Elliott, Rachel Elliott, Matthew (Elizabeth) Dillow, Amy (Aaron) Black and Laura (Shaun) Haught. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Howard Elliott and son Phillip and a sister Joan Schafer. Friends will be received at the McInbtire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 2-4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with the Rev. Stephen Moran as the celebrant. Burial will be at 1:45 p.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. The family would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at the Wayne Co. Care Center who displayed daily affection and kindness during her stay. The Crossroads Hospice of Northeast Ohio provided exceptional comfort during her final days. Additionally, a heartfelt thanks to Lori Terry, Corinne’s best friend and confidant for always being there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Corrine’s name to the Wayne Co. Care Center Auxiliary, 876 S. Geyers Chapel Rd., Wooster, OH 44691. To the living, I am gone to the sorrowful, I will never return. But to the happy, I am at peace, and to the faithful, I have never left. Remember me in your heart, your thoughts, and your memories of the times we loved, the times we cried, the times we fought, the times we laughed, for if you always think of me, I will never be gone. Life is short, precious, and fragile–tell those dear to you how much you love them.
