WOOSTER – Dona J. MOWRER, 89, of Wooster, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at West View Manor Nursing Home. She was born December 12, 1923 in Rittman, the daughter of Omar Everett and Nettie Houchin Royer. She married Harry J. Dutch Mowrer on November 2, 1941. He preceded in 2007. She was a homemaker and a member of the Central Christian Church. Dona enjoyed crocheting, loved spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Colleen Beaver of Wooster, John (Vicki) Mowrer and Keith (Shirley) Mowrer both of Jeromesville; grandchildren, Eric Beaver, Melissa Bevington, Missy Gillispie, Carrie Raff and John C. Mowrer; 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Dona was preceded by her parents, a brother Clarence Royer and a sister Laurabelle Watson. Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 2:00 p.m. service on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Mr. Nevin Numbers officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
