WOOSTER – Phyllis Joan STOCKSDALE, 80, of Wooster, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Wooster Community Hospital. She was born April 18, 1932 in Wadsworth, the daughter of Harry M and Viola B Ringler Slater. She married Irvin F. Stocksdale on October 14, 1950. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2004. She was a homemaker and along with her husband ran a dairy farm for 14 years. She had also been a bookkeeper for 50 years for Stocksdale Trucking. Phyllis was a member of the Wayne Co. Historical Society, Wayne Co. Geneological Society, Emblem Club #347, Prayer chain at Zion Lutheran Church, the Red Hat Society Divas to Go and the Zion Lutheran Church and Circle Club. Surviving are her children Nancy (Don) Flinner of Lakeville, Ken (Tela) Stocksdale of Mansfield, James Stocksdale of Apple Creek and Suzanne Stocksdale of Wooster, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, her siblings Roger Slater of Louisville, Gerry Hoff of Lucas, Dan Slater of West Salem and David Slater of Wooster. In addition to her husband, Phyllis was preceded by her parents, a grandchild and her beloved dog Queenie. Friends will be received on Saturday, February 9, 2013, 2 hours prior to the 2:00 p.m. memorial service at the Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St., Wooster with the Rev.
