WOOSTER – Raymond W MATHENY, 62, of Wooster, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at West View Healthy Living. He was born October 15, 1950 in Clarksburg, WV, the son of Raymond M and Lucille Snyder Matheny. He was a 1969 graduate of Wooster High School and had been a truck driver for a number of years. Raymond had spent many happy years living in the Florida Keys. He had a great love of music and was a very creative and artistic person. Surviving are a daughter, Dana (Drew) Holley of Bradenton, FL, 3 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren; stepchildren, Matthew Butcher, Nathaniel Butcher, Gina Butcher and Anna Baker; a brother, Bill (Bette) Matheny of Bend, OR, sisters, Judith Miller of McMinnville, OR, Joyce Bryerton of Sacramento, CA, Debra (John) Hobbs of Brighton, MI and Pam (Vince) Giffin of Wooster; many nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jean Nutter Matheny on December 2, 2012 and his parents. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church, 621 College Avenue, Wooster with the Revs Bruce Balentine and James Watt officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family. The family would like to thank the staff at West View Healthy Living and Dr. J. K. Miller for all their care, comfort and compassion shown to Ray.
