WOOSTER “ Bernard H. Shunk, 89, of Wooster passed away, Monday, February 18, 2013 at Wooster Community Hospital. He was born April 16, 1923 in Reading, Pennsylvania, the son of Harry and Mary Ely Shunk. He married Jeanne Koch on September 18, 1948. She survives. He had been employed by Koppers Company in its Research Division retiring in 1986 after 33 years. He was a member of the Wayne Amateur Radio Club and had served his country with the Army Air Corp. during WWII in the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Thomas H. (Laura) Shunk of Chesterland and grandchildren Samuel and Allegra and a brother, Robert G. Shunk of Reading, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be no calling hours or services. McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
