Rose Semenyna, 87, of Wooster and formerly of Berea passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at Brookdale Place Nursing Home in Wooster. She was born, January 11, 1926 in Staten Island, New York to William and Rose McNerny Kress. She married Peter Semenyna on January 3, 1942 on Staten Island. He passed away in March 1986. She had been a nurse at Fairview Park Hospital and then at Southwest General Hospital for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Berea and a member of the Eastern Star. Surviving are a son Pete Semenyna of Shreve, Ohio and a daughter Patricia DeVlieg of Westerville, Ohio; a granddaughter, Jennifer Cook, great-grandchildren Jesse Cook and Calvin Carter. In addition to her husband, she was preceded by her parents and 5 brothers and sisters. Friends will be received at the Baker, Osinski, Kensinger Funeral Home, 206 Front St., Berea, OH 44017 on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 5-7:30 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
