Caryol Bridenstine, 87, of Smithville, died Friday April 26, 2013 at Affinity Medical Center in Massillon. She was born July 12, 1925 in Jeromesville to Herbert Austin and Frances Caryol Dawson Sargent. Caryol married Earl Bridenstine in 1957. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2007. Caryol was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, knitting, the Cleveland Indians and cooking. She was a member of the Smithville Brethren Church where she was very active in various ministries. Caryol is survived by her son Evan of Fayetteville, NC, a brother Bernard Sargent of Ashland, niece Vivian Zulay Sargent of Beaverton, OR and several cousins. Along with her husband, Caryol was preceded in death by her parents and a son David Carl on July 20, 1975. Services will be held on Tuesday April 30 at 3:00 PM at the Smithville Brethren Church, 193 E. Main St., Smithville with the Revs. Art Carr and Ray Aspinall officiating. Friends will be received from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the church on Tuesday. Private family burial will be held at Smithville Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to the Smithville Brethren Church, 193 E. Main St., Smithville, OH 44677. McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, Wooster is assisting the family.
