WOOSTER –   Helen M. Ogden, 83, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013 after a two year courageous battle with cancer.   She was born February 14, 1930 in Westbury, Long Island, New York to John and Mildred (Henkel) Hoffman.
Helen married John F. Ogden on September 19, 1948 and moved to Wooster, Ohio where she and John started their family.   She worked as a dental assistant and later became a full time stay at home mother.   She enjoyed cooking, baking and decorating cakes.   She also loved crocheting, cross stitching and playing cards.   Her home was always a welcome place where she loved to cook and entertain guests.   Boating and fishing with John was one of her favorite pastimes.
Helen was very strong in her faith and kept a positive attitude throughout her battle with cancer, living one day at a time and to the fullest.   Her sense of humor was never tarnished, even in the last days of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2007; sons, Larry and John; two sisters, Dorothy Smith and Mildred Bearce.   Surviving are son, David (Bonnie) Ogden and daughter, Shari (Richard) Berner; grandchildren, Jarrod (Laine) Ogden, Shawn and Danielle (Chris) Berner, Stephanie and Michael Ogden; two great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Thomas (Pat) Ogden; sisters-in-law, Helen and Annaabelle Ogden, Josephine Williams, Alice Mae Andrews and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank all those involved in her care the last couple of years, especially Hospice and the entire staff of Smithville Western Care Center.   We would also like to thank our many friends that supported Helen, your visits kept her spirit high.   Helen will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her, for many years to come.
