WOOSTER – Samuel Ed BRUMPTER, 85, of Wooster, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Glendora Health Care Center.
He was born July 10, 1927 in Wooster, the son of Urban and Mary Mickley Brumter.
He worked for the Cleveland Plain Dealer in the Engraving Dept. for 35 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was in a roller and ice skating club in Cleveland, loved to draw and paint and was a great lover of nature. Served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Surviving are sisters, Sr. Mary Peter Brumter of Akron and Rita DePasqua of Wooster and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Elizabeth Konkler, Frances Brumpter, Agnes Orr and brother, Bernard Brumter.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday evening, June 30, 2013 from 6-8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Stephen Moran as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery, Wooster, OH.
