WOOSTER – Charlie Leland Ray, 59, was welcomed into heaven on Saturday, July 13, 2013 after a devastating accident. He was a husband, father, grandfather and friend and will forever be remembered.
Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, July 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. at McIntire Bradham & Sleek, 216 E Larwill St. Wooster, OH 44691. Memorial services will take place on Thursday at 11:00 a.m.  at the  Freedom Fellowship Church, 6209 S. Carr Rd. Apple Creek, OH 44606 with pastor Duane Detweiler officiating. A private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
Charlie was born on November 20, 1953 in Wadsworth, OH to the late Robert and LetaMae Musser Ray. He graduated from Orrville High School, spending most of his time wrestling. Finding the love of his life at age 27, Charlie and Darlene Glenn were married June 11, 1983 and spent the last thirty wonderful years together. In addition to having two girls of their own, Charlie and Darlene offered their home to foster children for over 25 years.
In his free time, Charlie enjoyed running and lifting weights, racing his mini stock car, golfing and watching his grandson play sports.
Surviving are wife Darlene Ray of Wooster, OH, daughters Ashley (Jimmy) Zimmerman of Orrville, OH and Cassandra (David) Hradek of Charlotte, NC; numerous foster daughters (and grandchildren) who he loved as his own; grandchildren Caleb and Caitlyn Zimmerman of Orrville, OH; brother Fred (Dixie) Ray of Wooster, OH and sisters Sylvia (Doug) McKenzie of Apple Creek, OH, Lisa (Jim) Harperof Bakersfield, CA and Sharon (Don)Dille of Calera, AL.
