Dawn Marilyn Agnes passed away peacefully on Saturday August 3, 2013 at Wooster Community Hospital surrounded by her loving family.   Dawn was born December 2, 1920 to the late Merle and Helen (Straus) Cadmus.   She grew up in the Akron neighborhood of Kenmore where she graduated from Kenmore High School before moving to Wooster with her family.
In Wooster she met her husband Arthur Agnes and worked for the telephone company until the time of her marriage on May 8, 1943.   Art preceded her in death on November 21, 2004.
Dawn, along with her family, was a long time member of the Trinity United Church of Christ.   She was a member of the Wooster Community Hospital Auxiliary, Wooster Women ™s Service League, Colony Club and The Wooster Country Club.   She enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends.
Dawn and Art shared a love for the game of golf.   The spent their retirement years traveling and playing in the Senior Golf Association.
Surviving are her children Susan (Jim) Halas of Delaware, Ohio and Richard (Jolanta) Agnes of Hudson, Ohio; grandchildren Paul McDermott of Dayton, Ohio, Emily (Glenn) Nice of Hilliard, Ohio and Mark Agnes of Indianapolis, Indiana and a sister Helen (Jeff) Jeffries of San Francisco, California.
In addition to Art, preceding her in death was her brother Charles (Imogene) Cadmus; sisters Margaret McBride, Wilma (Vernie) Conn and Ruth (John) Luke and granddaughter Sarah Anne Halas.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday August 6, 2013 at 11:30 AM at Wooster Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Kevan Franklin officiating.   Friends may call on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 AM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 150 E. North St., Wooster.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster, 44691 in her memory.
