WOOSTER – Thomas E GERWIN, 68, of Wooster, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Akron General Medical Center.
He was born July 29, 1945 in Fremont, son of Richard and Jean Shilling Gerwin. He married Jeanne Williams on October 30, 1999. She survives.
He retired in 2009 as a welder from Stahl Manufacturing after 12 years of employment. He liked to restore old cars, going fishing, camping and the outdoors. Thomas served his country with the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Matthew Gerwin of Ariz., stepchildren Teana Shambaugh of Alabama, Wendy Pringle of Wooster, Jeanne Pringle of North Royalton, and Jamie Pringle of Wooster; several grandchildren, a brother, Greg Gerwin of Florida and a sister, Cathy Sherwood of Uniontown.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no calling hours.
Inurnment of cremains will be held Monday, August 12, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
