Della Mae Schaum, 99, of Wooster died Saturday August 17, 2013 at West View Healthy Living.
She was born November 30, 1913 in Chester Twp. daughter of John Franklin and Amanda C. Finn Mowrer.   On December 19, 1934 she married Paul Edward Schaum.   He preceded her in death on October 7, 1994.
Della Mae retired from Borg-Warner after working there for 25 years.   She was a member of First Church of God where she taught Sunday School and was a cook at the church camp.   Della Mae enjoyed traveling with her husband and later her family.   One enjoyable adventure was a hot air balloon ride from Triway School to Holmes County.   She also enjoyed bowling, bingo at the nursing home and visiting with her family.  
Della Mae is survived by her daughter Jannette (Merle Joe) Miller of Wooster; grandchildren John Quicci, Susan (Jason) Anderson, Steven (Veronica) Miller and Sharon (Hoss) Allison all of Wooster; step-grandchildren Ronald J. (Deb) Smith, Jr. of Orrville, Jackie (Stan) Olevnik of New York and Tina (Allen) Sheppard of Oklahoma; 13 great grandchildren; son-in-law Ron Smith of Wooster; nieces Pauline Schaum Schroeder of Florida and Amy Schaum Owen of Minnesota both who spent their high school years in her home.
Along with her husband, Della Mae was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Nancy Smith; sister Cecilia Mowrer Miller and bothers Chester, Charles and Harry Mowrer.
The family wishes to thank the West View Healthy Living Staff for their excellent care while Della Mae was a resident there for 3 ½ years.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 21, 2013 at 10:00 AM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Pastor Ken Thomas officiating.   Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.   Friends will be received on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
