PITTSBURGH – Caroline Falvo, age 95,passed away peacefully September 7, 2013.
She was born December 16, 1917 to Louis N. and Corneila (Farcasu)Falvo in Wooster, Ohio and graduated from Wooster High School. After graduating from high school, she became a beautician and ran a successful beauty shop before renouncing her material life, and entered into a life of service to others.
She became a caregiver to the elderly, and co-founded the Family Service Corps, a Catholic nursing home in Monongahela, PA.   She helped administer this facility until her retirement. Even after her retirement, she assisted others on a daily basis spreading her special sense of humor and joy to other residents.   Her eyes were always sparkling with fun and she brought a positive attitude to everything she did. She will be remembered for all the smiles she encouraged and her deeply held Catholic faith.
She is now reunited with her family members who have predeceased her: Her parents, Louis and Cornelia Falvo, her brothers, John J.(Jean) Falvo of Canton, Ohio, Louis Falvo, half brother Tommy Miller, sisters Mary Falvo and Sr. Helen Falvo, O.P. and a nephew Christopher L. Falvo, niece Kay Falvo and great “niece Celeste Falvo.
She leaves to remember her a niece Catherine E. Swintosky, of Canton, Ohio, niece Linda Falvo of Canton, Ohio, and two great nieces and two great nephews and their families.
There will be a funeral Mass at St. Mary ™s Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave. Wooster, Ohio on Saturday, September 14th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
Calling hours will be at the Church from 10-11:00 a.m. before the Mass. Internment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Wooster.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
Friends may send flowers to the church or donations may be made in Caroline ™s memory to the Celeste Falvo Memorial Fund c/o Central Catholic High School, 4824 Tuscarawas West, Canton, OH 44708.
