WOOSTER “ Alice Mae Starr, 86, of Wooster passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born May 22, 1927 in Wayne County, the daughter of Alfred and Ida May Lautzenheiser Canankamp.   She married George Starr on January 19, 1946.   He preceded her in death on September 24, 2010.
Alice was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, crafts, cooking and reading.
She is survived by her children, Mary Beth (Dale) Sungy of Akron, Mike (Flora) Starr of Shreve and Rebecca (Paul) Klopfenstein of Plymouth; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded by her parents, one sister and three brothers.
There will be no calling hours.
A procession will form at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. to proceed to the Reedsburg Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m.graveside service with the Rev. Tom Benter officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her special friends, Joyce, Ruth and Raylene and to the staff at West View Healthy Living for all their care.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 who assisted in her care at the time of her passing.
