WOOSTER – Walter J STUTZ, 83, of Wooster, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Orrville Pointe Nursing Home in Orrville.
He was born May 5, 1930 in  Holmes Co., the son of Joseph C and Pearl Chenevey Stutz He married Eva Blough on April 18, 1959. She survives.
He retired as service manager and owner of Lowe & Young. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Walter served his country with the US Army during the Korean War.
He enjoyed woodworking and attending his grandchildren’s activities.
Surviving in addition to his wife are; a daughter, Melissa (William) Rosenbaum of Orrville, sons, Brian (Deborah) Stutz of Springfield, VA, and John (Michelle) Stutz of Greenfield, IN, grandchildren, Eric, Nathan and Spencer Rosenbaum, Morgan, Ian, Allison, Patrick, Ethan, Sarah and Rachel Stutz; a brother, Loran (Shirley) Stutz of Lore City and sister’s, Jenny (Sam) Gasbarre of Richfield and Mary (Charlie) Williams of Massillon; sisters-in-law Martha Stutz of Danville and Betty Besancon of Sterling.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Marcella Drakulich and a brother, Joseph Stutz.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Friday evening from 5-8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with the Rev. Stephen Moran as the celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Orrville Pointe Nursing Home, Glendora Health Care Center, and LifeCare Hospice for their care and compassion.
