SMITHVILLE ” Maxine Mae (Snyder) Byler, 84, formerly of Smithville, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at Smithville-Western Care Center, where she had been a resident for 5 1/2 years.
She was born July 26, 1929 in Holmes County to Henry and Grace (Marty) Snyder and married Glenn R. Byler on July 9, 1948. He preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 2008.
Maxine was a 1947 graduate of Smithville High School and with her husband had farmed in her earlier years. She had worked at the former Freedlander Department Store for 40 years and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Smithville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are children, Marcia Brueck of Wooster, Linda (Brad) Hider of Shreve, Diane (Ken) Ryneer and Bruce (Barbara) Byler, both of Smithville; grandchildren and their families, Jeremy (Kim) Brueck and their children, Ian, Isaac and Aiden of Uniontown; Josh (Pam) Brueck of Minneapolis, Minn.; Heather (Brian) Kindy and their children, Traci, Kaitlyn, Courtney and Kent of Smithville; Jennifer (Greg) Morgan and their children, Max and Drew of Barberton; Tiffany (Adam) Schupp and their children, Dakota and Danicka of Shreve; Emily (David) Gerhart and their children, Adysson and Hudson of Ashland; Christopher (Heather) Byler and their children, Lucienne and Isabella of Loudonville; and Danielle (Jamin) Sprowl and their daughter, Paisley of Wooster.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sally Ann; her parents; and siblings,  Florence Mills, Harry, William, Rufus and Robert Snyder, Mary Jane Blacksten, Betty McClure, and Barbara Hutchinson.
Services will be Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, with the Rev. Wayne Giesler officiating. Burial will be in Smithville Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday, November 18, 2013 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes  Association, 1815 W. Market St., Suite 108, Akron 44313;  LifeCare Hospice, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691; and  Smithville-Western Care Center, 4110 E. Smithville-Western Road, Wooster 44691.
