Joseph œJoe  Anthony Bendycki, 70, of West Salem died Sunday December 1, 2013 at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born February 19, 1943 in Cleveland to Joseph R. and Mary Jablonski Bendycki.
Joe was Catholic by faith and a member of the American Legion Post 339.
He retired as a firefighter with the City of Cleveland and had served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.   Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing and carpentry work, his dogs and watching wildlife.   He also enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews and friends.
 Joe is survived by a sister, Joan Stroh of Poland, Ohio, many nieces and nephews and a special friend Mary J. Kinney of Wooster.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ronald, a sister Mary Ann Stroh and an infant brother.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for the care and compassion provided by LifeCare Hospice and to the nurses and staff of Wooster Community Hospital and Glendora Health Care Center.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday December 11, 2013 at 2:30 PM at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
