Mark R. Edington, 63, of West Salem passed away peacefully February 1, 2014 at his home with his wife by his side after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Ashland, May 14, 1950 the son of Leland and Jolan Edington and married Penny S. Long on November 8, 1981.   She survives.
Mark retired in 2011 from Cassens Transport, where he left behind many close friends.   Mark loved hunting, where he spent many deer season with wife Penny and father-in-law Clyde Long.   He loved NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt, and his past Harleys.   He always looked forward to his vacations with Penny and Skylar.
Mark never met a stranger.   He had that gift of gab.   He always looked forward to his many visits and phone calls from his friends.   He attended Mohican Church of the Brethren and considered Pastor Paul a good friend.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children George (Kari) Edington of FL, Marnie (Phil) Hauser of MI, Zeb Edington of Wooster and Brande (Clint) Rowe of Ashland.   And most loved and precious granddaughter Skylar Edington that put a smile on his face every time she entered the room.   Other very special grandchildren are Kolten McKinley and Stryder Rowe of Ashland and DeVon, Abbey and Rory Newsham of Michigan.   He also leaves behind his most loyal beloved dog Ozzy, who never left his side til the end, sister Louree (Steve) Ladrach of Wooster and brothers Steve Edington of Grafton and Scott Edington of Texas.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
Mark ™s final wishes were for a private family service to be held at Mohican Church of the Brethren in West Salem as a celebration of life on Saturday February 15 at 12:00 Noon.   Family may gather one half hour prior to the service.

The family wishes to thank Cleveland Clinic nurses and Dr. Paul Masci for his personal and compassionate care he provided for Mark, Kristin Anthony and friends and Beth Cutter and family for all the preparations for Mark ™s celebration, hospice for all their support and wonderful care and Pastor Paul Bartholomew for all the visits and support he provided for Mark and family the past two years and Mohican Church for everything they have done from the heart and the prayers for Mark and Penny.   They have been deeply felt by all the family.
