COLUMBUS – Patricia L YOUNG, 72, of Columbus, passed away Friday, February 28, 2014 at Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland.
She was born November 5, 1941 in Wooster, the daughter of Loren and Olive Daniels James.
Patricia attended Wooster High School and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1959 and obtained her R.N. in 1962 from Mansfield General Hospital.
She had been a palliative nurse at St. Anne’s Hospital in Columbus retiring in 2007 after 15 years.   She was an avid reader, enjoyed walking in nature and loved animals.   Patricia was a member of the Community Singers for 15 years, was a Red Cross volunteer and was in the choir at Karl Road Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Julie (Jim) Matheson of Lexington, MA, a son, Jeff (Shelia) Burckhart of Wooster; grandchildren, Shannan Mark, Stephanie (Jeff) Long, Sabrina (Brandon) Bowels, Samantha, Sydney and Shelby Burckhart; great-grandchildren, Brianna Bowels, Brandi Bowels and Lucas Mark; a brother, Tom James of Smithville, sisters, Mary Jo Minks of Canal Fulton and Jean Daugherty of Dayton; loving Auntie Faith Houston of Wooster; her special friend, John Matz of Colorado Springs, CO and her former husband and friend, Roger Burckhart of Wooster.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends will be received at Oak Chapel United Methodist Church, 4203 W. Old Lincoln Way, Wooster on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 6-8:00 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service at the Church on Saturday.
A memorial service will be held at the Church on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Robin Dillon officiating.
Friends will be received at the Karl Road Baptist Church, 5750 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio 1 hour prior to an 11:00 a.m. memorial service on Saturday, March 22, 2014 with a luncheon to follow.
