WOOSTER “ Gerald œJake  Case, 63 of Wooster passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014.
He was born March 21, 1950 in Wooster, the son of John C. and the late Arlene (Switzer) Case.   He married Sandra K. Ferguson on June 6, 1970.   She survives.
Jake was a graduate of Triway High School in 1968 and had worked for Dave Lowe Construction before serving his country with the U.S. Army at Ft. Riley, Kansas.   He also attended Wooster Business College and graduated in 1974.
He had worked for Rubbermaid nearly 40 years before retiring in 2013.
Jake loved the outdoors and spending time with his family.   He was a member of the Moreland United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Lorie (Dave) Sherrill of Wooster and a son Steven (Jillayne) Case of Orrville; step-grandchildren Kyle and Maycee Sherrill; his father, John Case of Wooster, a sister Sandra Treece of Wooster and a brother, Randy (Jackie) Case of Florida.   Many nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his mother, a brother, Tim and grandparents.
Friends will be received 2 hours prior to the 2:00 p.m. service at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday, March 16, 2014 with Pastor Tom Fish officiating.   Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Lance and the Hospice staff and the staff at Wooster Community Hospital for the great care they gave Jake and the great support given to the family.

They say there is no reason, they say that time will heal, but neither time nor reason will change the way we feel.   For no one knows how many times we have broken down and cried.
We want to tell you something so there won ™t be any doubt, you ™re so wonderful to think of but so hard to be without.   We cannot bring the old days back, when we were all together.   The family chain is broken now but memories live forever.
