WOOSTER – Gerald R. Jerry MIDDLETON, 89, of Wooster, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born August 10, 1924 in Wooster, the son of Leslie Dale and Lula Amelia Harrison Middleton.
He had worked for Bogner and Lox Construction Companies and had also been a truck driver for the Wooster Egg Auction. Jerry was a member of the First Church of God and had served his country in the US Navy Medical Corp at Pearl Harbor during WWII.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Mary L. Kaylor Middleton and his children, Gerald L (Carol) Middleton of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Thomas Middleton, Carol Middleton and Curt (Lisa) Middleton all of Wooster; grandchildren, Heather Heckman Miller, Chad Heckman, Tiffany Pitcher, Samantha Stein, Matt Middleton, Tina Middleton, Regina Finley and Melissa Rhea; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Musselman of Wooster and Beverly Fliger of Bellville and a brother, Leslie D Middleton of Loudonville.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Shirley Lifer and brothers, Don and Earl Middleton.
There will be no calling hours.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman with Rev. Arnie Kaufman officiating.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
