WOOSTER “ Harry L. Carter, 74, of Wooster passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at his home.
He was born April 15, 1939 in Wooster, the son of Beacher and Alma Hawkins Carter.   He married Alida E. Weirick on July 22, 1966.   She survives.
He had worked for Diebold, Inc. from 1959 – 1985 and was the financial controller at F. J. Designs, Inc. from 1985 – 2001.   Harry was very active in the First Church of God where he was a lifelong member.   He enjoyed golfing and his card club.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army from 1961 “ 1964.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Ronald L. Carter of Wooster and Laura D. (Dave) Pittman of Mansfield; a granddaughter Shianna Carter and a sister, Helen McVey of Sterling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Cecil Carter and a brother, Verne Mohler.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday evening, April 17, 2014 from 5-8:00 p.m.
Services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of God, 1953 Akron Road, Wooster with the Rev ™s Arnie Kaufman and Ken Thomas officiating.   Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
