WOOSTER “ Helen M. Garver, 93 of Wooster went to Glory on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at West View Healthy Living.   She was one of seven children born to the late bill and Sadie Mowrer on the family farm on September 19, 1920 in Overton, Ohio.   Helen spent most of her life living in Lodi, Ohio raising her eight children.   Later in life she started working at Lodi Hospital, where all that met her fell in love with her.   She was a hard worker and worked there for 30 years.   She finally retired at the young age of 73.   She was an active member of her church, The First Overton Church of God.   In Lodi, she joined The Lodi Congregation Church.   Her life has always been God, family and friends; which she had many.
Helen was always a very active woman.   People saw her walking daily all over town saying her œHellos and keeping in shape.   She loved to help keep Lodi clean by always picking up the litter she saw.   She loved to walk and put many miles on her shoes.
In 2007, she moved to Wooster to be closer to family.   She became a volunteer at œFriendtique and enjoyed her time spent helping others.   She eventually moved into West View Healthy Living where she made many new friends and touched many peoples ™ hearts with her kind and witty attitude.   She was the social butterfly that never met a stranger and always made you feel welcome and special.   Helen loved her new chapel, her Pastor Kirk Fairhurst and ringing the bells during service.
Helen will be missed by her eight children: Carol (Ronnie) of Strongsville, Ohio, Sue (Jon) Zerrer of Wooster, Ohio, Treva Duncan of Dearing, Georgia, Chuck (Anita) Caskey of Peirson, Florida, Gary (Judy) Garver of Polk, Ohio, Betty Ramsier of Wooster, Ohio, Dave (Arlene) of Polk, Ohio and Dick Garver of Lodi, Ohio.
She was an amazing Grandmother to her 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Brothers Dick, Lloyd, and Donald Mowrer, her sisters Betty Bower, Evelyn Johnson, and Catherine (Kate) Spitler, her granddaughter, Aimee Garver, and son in law Rex Ramsier.
The family would like to thank the staff at West View Healthy Living, Wooster Community Hospital, Life Care Hospice and everyone who has shown your love and kindness for our œmom.    The family would also like to give a special thanks to Dr. John K. Miller and Pastor Kirk Fairhurst.
