Max E. MAIRS, 79, of Wooster, OH, passed away April 25, 2014 at his residence.
He was born August 12, 1934 in Lodi, OH, son of Ray W and Edna Shriver Mairs. He married Bettie Shipman on July 30, 1977.
Max was a life long farmer and retired from the maintenance dept. at Wooster Community Hospital. He attended West Hill Baptist Church. He loved tractor pulls and tinkering in his barn. Max was a wonderful family man and a friend to everybody.
Surviving are his wife, son, Jim Mairs of Navarre, daughter, Kristy Mairs-Treece of Wooster, son, John Mairs of Wooster, son, Butch(Barb) Chewning of Wooster, daughter-in-law, Rita Jeffries of Wooster, sister, Janet(Marion) Miller of Shreve, 6 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Max was preceded in death by father and mother, son, Dave Chewning, brother, NealCork Mairs, and sister, Shirley Jean McDowell.
Funeral services will be held at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, Ohio 44691, April 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Eric Fairhurst officiating. Interment will follow in the Plain Cemetery, Wooster, OH.
Friends will be received Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 6-8 PM at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, Wooster, OH.
