Carolyn Rae VANATA, 85, of Wooster, OH, passed away August 4, 2014 at Brookdale Place of Wooster.
She was born September 16, 1928 in Council Bluffs, IA, daughter of Belden and Mary Moser Clark. She married Steve Vanata in May 1954, he proceeded her in death in 2013
Carolyn owned Carolyn Rae Enterprise. She had worked at Flavor and Fragrance Specialties (FFS) in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey for over 20 years. She was an animal lover especially dogs, cats and birds and was a truly kind and happy person. She and her husband moved to Wooster in 2006 from Little Egg Harbor, NJ.
She was a member of the U.S. Navy from 1952-1954 working at the US Naval Hospital at Great Lakes, Ill. She received the National Defense Service Medal.
Surviving are sons, David(Penny) Vanata of Wooster, OH, Mark(Michelle) Vanata of Geneva, IL, sister, Donna Stom and twin sister Marilyn Childs, granddaughter, Victoria Vanata of Charleston, SC, granddaughter, Alexandra Vanata of Wooster, OH, grandson, Vincent Vanata of Wooster, OH, granddaughter, Madison Vanata of Geneva, IL, granddaughter, Mackenzie Vanata of Geneva, IL, grandson, Marcus Vanata of Geneva, IL.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband and brothers, Darrell, Jack and Edwin Clark.
There will be no calling hours. Private services will be held at a later date.
