WOOSTER – Rudolph Rudy P. Profant, 82 of Wooster, formerly of Cleveland died Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Smithville Western Care Center.
He was born December 14, 1931 in Cleveland to Rudolph and Mary Domomakas Profant.   He graduated from West Tech High School in Cleveland and was a draftsman/engineer at Teledyne Republic in Cleveland.   Rudy was one of the founders of The American Air Racing Society, dedicated to the research and preservation of the true historical facts and figures of the Golden Age of Air Racing from 1929-1939.
He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 and was stationed in Hawaii and Alaska.
Rudy is survived by a nephew, Dale Cillian of Gilbert, AZ.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Marlene Profant Boulware.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at the Wooster Cemetery with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating.
