WOOSTER Ronald John Koch, 80, of Wooster passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born July 4, 1934 in Cleveland, the son of John Frank and Nancy Mohr Koch. He married Shanette Day. She survives.
He retired from Bell and Howell after 40 years of employment. He proudly served his country with the US Army from 1957 to 1963.
Ron loved to cook and would often fall asleep at night reading cookbooks and cooking magazines. He made a great NY Cheesecake and he enjoyed both cooking and some baking. He loved all the cooking shows and channels. He was especially a fan of Michael Simon in Cleveland.
Ron enjoyed Jazz and Big Band music immensely, especially Ella Fitzgerald, Maynard Ferguson, Duke Ellington, to mention a few. He was fortunate enough to have attended many jazz concerts, over the years, of great artists. He and Shan also loved the jazz concerts at the College of Wooster.
He was a big sports fan, especially OSU, Browns and Cavs. Ron almost always had a smile for everyone plus a good comedic streak and brought much fun and laughter wherever he would be.
In addition to his wife he is survived by sisters, May Sprenger of Chicago and Ethel Schneider of Bedford Hts. and many beloved nieces and nephews.
